NitroTech, Aspartame and hair loss

Hey guys, we all know that NitoTech as well as many other protein based products contain Aspartame, and we have all heard the stories behind that and other artificial sweeteners.

My story is as follows:

I had been using NitroTech for 4 or 5 months. At first I noticed that it was difficult to pee after drinking this protein drink but was not too worried just yet. Well those symptoms passed within a few weeks. But as the weeks went on I noticed unusual hair loss. Now after stopping the use of the product I am left with much thinner hair.

If it is related to Aspartame, I am told that it will grow back after 5 months or so. I don't know if it was the Aspartame or something else in Nitrotech that caused this, but it is no fun. I'm now trying out Optimum Nutrition's Natural Pro Complex. It has nothing artificial at all. It's sweetened with Stevia.

Has anyone else experienced any of this? If not, be careful. Even that Labrada Pro V60 has Aspartame and another one that is apparantly just as naughty.

Never had that problem. I haven't used NitroTech products, but I eat a fair amount of stuff that has Aspartame in it. Never experienced any hair loss, and male pattern baldness runs in my family so if someone's going to lose hair it's probably me. I'm 36, full head of hair. I've used Optimum products (still do). I've had decent success with them and I think they are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the reply

I'm glad you have not had to deal with the hair loss. I'm not sure what the deal is with me. Maybe there are ProHormones in NitroTech as some have suggested. MuscleTech swears there are not, and I find it hard to believe that there would be.

Thanks

M.

Aspartame

I'll tell you something else too. I had the best head of hair for a man. Now I have the hardest time styling because of this hair loss. It really is pissing me off tonight. I look the web over and find many complaints about Aspartame, but only a few concerning Nitro-Tech and the possibility of ProHormones or Steriods in it. I am convenced it was the Aspartame at this point, and I am so mad at myself for not stopping the use of the product at first sign of trouble. The Nitro-Tech was working so well that I found it difficult to stop using it. Hard lessons learned.

Male Hair Loss

Bodybuilders are notorious for supplementing their diet with various types of drugs and/or supplements that may cause hormone levels to rise and fall. This may lead to hair loss; the following may help quite a bit:

1. Ensure you are not low in B vitamins and zinc. Healthly hair growth requires the above nutrients.

2. Take an 81mg ( daily low dose such as Bayer) aspirin daily. Aspirin facilitates oxygen/nutrient rich blood circulation to the scalp and minimizes inflamation to encourage healthy hair growth.

3. Shampoo at least twice a week with a zinc based formula. Almost all dandruff shampoos have the desired 1% zinc. The zinc prevents the testostorone from causing hair folicles to "clog".

The above is fact, not a personnal experiment. Give this 'routine" at least two months before being critical of results.

Aspirin

Do you think something like Ginkgo Biloba would work the same way? I used to take that daily..

Thanks for the valued information.

Ginko Biloba has anticoagulant properties like aspirin. I do not see any reason/benefit to take it in place of the 81mg aspirin dose I mentioned.

Ginko Biloba has been marketed as a "memory improving" supplement. The research on this supplement has produced questionable data.

Recommend you key in on supplements that may compliment your athletic/health goals.

Take care Maitrix,

Geo

Never had a problem with it.

Hey Bro,

Just my .02 worth, but I used muscle-tech products exclusively for two years and never had a problem. I took nitro-tech/cell-tech/meso-tech. You name it I took it every day. Maybe something else in the mixture?

Later,

Massiv

Not sure

Hey man,

Thanks for the reply.. I'm not sure about it all anymore. All I know is my hair was falling out while on the stuff and is now growing back now that I'm not. Maybe just some people have problems with artificial sweeteners. From what I read on the web about Aspartame the stuff should be banned and the FDA should be sued.
