Question Intake ?

I weigh 250# 5'10" and about 16% bodyfat good genetics. "Newbi"

I need to get my bodyfat way down. I keep reading that in order to get the gains that you want from cycles you have to eat, train and rest. But the calories that they are saying to take in for someone my size is about 4000+ (some say as high as 6000)for great gains. My problem is that if I am trying to loose the bodyfat and build more muscle ... wont the increased metabolism of the muscle reduce my need (at first) for such high calories. If this is true it would seem that a "staged approach" in other words 3000/3500/4000+ calories (build up) to use some of that fat in the earlier stages as a source for growth. My point is that it is weird to me to add calories now and only have to continue to work that much harder with the cardio when I can do the same cardio (3x per wk.), increase intensity and allow my body to use the extra fat as part of its source.

Sounds like a terrible idea. If your body is dipping into fat stores you are entering into ketosis and you will be catabolic at this point. Anabolism is what you want, and what you get when you spend hard earned money on gear. Don't waste it. If you want to really get cut up do a cutting cycle with the proper drug and keep your diet sensible. Ask shine or luckysaint for the best combo. They should know. Another point, if you are 250lbs at 5'10 maybe its time to get ripped anyway, it sounds like you have plenty of mass already. Peace. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
