Post high intensity interval training

I tried it for the first time today. I read about in Muscle Media and in Shawn Phillips' new book. Its a short cardio progrom that'll kick your ass! It only takes 12 minutes to do. Its supposed to shred fat faster than doing regular cardio in an hour. I went to a trail near my house and jogged for 4 minutes and for the next 4 minutes I ran as fast as I could for 20 seconds then jogged for 10 seconds. You do this pattern 20, 10, 20, 10, etc...during this 4 minutes and the last 4 minutes you jog at 50% of your level. I thought I was going to die but it was over before I knew it. My legs kill and I'm going to take measurements next week to see if it works. I'll keep you all posted.

Here's the thing. The info stated that there is minimal mass consumption. Low intensity cardio done for the usual 30 minutes to an hour is highly catabolic. When the high intensity is done on an empty stomach you wait an hour before you eat. When its over its supposed to use your body fat as a fuel source rather than proteins. Test subjects were studied while on the program and gained more definition as their b.f. went down. They kept their lean mass and some even gained more muscle. I'll just have to wait a few weeks and see.

Cardio is good in theory, but I don't like it...I always hit an excercise bike for 15-20 minutes before every workout, but that is just to get the blood flowing and warm me up!!
Like I stated earlier, I am trying to hit mass, and diet can determine how much if any fat you put on...I believe cardio is good for certain people, but my with my body type, I believe too much cardio can eat my physique!!! I just don't know how much it is worth to sarifice!!! Good info though.

I don't believe Santos was singleing you out Pecs I think the information was for anyone who might could use it in there endeavors to become a Geat Body-Builder....YES! Cardio is Important & if done correctly even on a Mass cycle you won't lose Muscle. I've found that it is very important to do cardio on a mass cycle, but I do it totally different than I would before I get ready to compete....

After my Workout I'll hit the bike or treadmill what ever! for 15-20 min. only 2-3 times per week and that does the trick for me......It makes a huge difference in my energy levels, cardiovascular sytem, fat control, etc. etc. than as opposed to not doing it....IMO

Just with any cardio it only needs to be done 3 times a week. Its great. I'm seeing results already and I've been doing it for 3 days now. My pants are getting looser but my upperbody mass remains. I'm cutting up pretty well so far.
