When I was 16 I was 5'7'' and weighted 250lbs of pure fat. I started taking xenadrine and weight lifting occasionally and my weight rapidly decreased. After four months of taking Xendarine and lifting a couple times a week, I was down to 200lbs. I then started running a mile around 3 times a week. I progressed to running 4miles 5 nights a week, and over 5 months my weight rapidly dropped down to 153lbs. I continued taking xenadrine, dieting and exercising over the last year and three months and my weight has stayed between 153 and 158lbs.
I am now almost 19 and still taking xenadrine. I worked out a lot over the summer but started slacking this fall and started having uncontrollable eating binges. This lead to noticeable amount of weight gain and I now weight 164lbs. I try eating healthy but end up only being able to diet for half of the day and end up eating huge amounts of carbs and junk food. The xenadrine no longer does anything for me but if I don't take it I get a terrible headache, a huge appetite, and feel very tired and not wanting to do anything. I tried to get off of xenadrine many times but it feels impossible to live without it. I am terrafied that if I stop taking Xenadrine I will go back to 250lbs. I need some advice on how to do what's best for my body. I really want to live a normal healthy life style. Please tell me what I should do. Thank you for listening [ January 08, 2002: Message edited by: Gunz387 ] |

WOW! That's quite a loss, I applaud you!
First off before anything else you must work on proper eating habits and proper nutrition. Set your diet up to where you have 1 cheat day a week to eat what ever you want, this will help keep you from feeling deprived. Once you have the diet and your training on a regular schedule then you can begin reducing the amount of xenadrine, you are now taking, until you eventually come off of them all together. Your will power just needs a little kick in the pants and you'll be fine. Welcome to the board, by the way, stick around and become part of our family. We are all here to support and help each other. Thanks for joining and again Welcome! |

I'm in with these guys bro. I don't think that you will shoot back up to 250 if you keep yourself dieting and exercising correctly. That is a great loss too! Congrats are definitely in order!! Keep lifting weights as well. The more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will remain.
Your body is most likely so used to the caffeine that you have been feeding into it for such a long time. That is the most likely cause of the terrible headaches. I know that when I stopped drinking soda a while ago, I went through withdrawal from it as well. It will go away after a while, don't worry!! The increased appetite will eventually go away to once you are off for a while. Your willpower will be put to the test after you go off the xenedrine, so be strong buddy!! Be strong!! My husband and his brother dropped around 400+ lbs between the both of them. My husband is now 6'5" tall and he's around 260 lbs. He takes xenical on a regular basis, especially if he eats junky that day. It really helps him out. If you're afraid to go off dieting aides, try supplementing it with something else. Not another caffeine based product mind you, but maybe Xenical will help you... just a suggestion from my husband's personal battle with his weight all throughout his life. Hope that little testimony helped you a tad. J

Bro, I was hooked on Xenadine for about 6 months. I thought it was the magic bullet that helped me drop from from a pudgy 215 lbs to a lean and slender 145 lbs. Now I'm 5' 9" so thats not bad for an average height guy. Maybe a bit underweight but still ok. Thing is I got hooked on it. I know now that a great deal of my fat loss was a result of proper diet and exercise. The Xenadrine helped too with controlling cravings, boosted metabolism and energy but the most important factors are good nutrition and working out. I was so excited about my weight loss that I stayed on the Xenadrine til my weight got down to about 135. I did'nt realize my obsession til my friends started saying that I looked gaunt and me cheeks were sunken in. Well I was' nt about to give up the Xenadrine for fear of shooting back up to a 215lb fat ass. So I told myself that it really can't be too healthy being that thin and being on an ECA stack for that long period of time. What i did was ween myself off of it slowly. I took half the recommended use for 2 weeks, and then the next week I only took 1 pill at two meals then finally just one pill in the morning before working out for a week and then stopped taking it. Yeah I occasionally get uncontrollable urges to binge, but we all do, the human body was programmed to feel that way since the dawn of man. To avoid going hog wild, no pun intended, is to surround yourself in a totally anabolic eating environment. That is to eat a good fiber-rich/protein-rich breakfast. Fiber fills you up til your next meal and protein has a full feeling effect as well. Breakfast is so crucial to maintaining a lean physique as well as well-being. Stive to eat 6 small evenly spaced meals a day. Healthy meals now, lots of lean sources of protein, moderate, quality carbs and veggies. Eat every 2 hours and you'll never feel hungry. This keeps your metabolic furnace burning all day and night!!! Be sure to drink atleast 12oz. of water after every meal to properly absorb all nutrients, this will also fill you up til its time to eat again. Feel free to e-mail me w/ any questions at all. I know what you are going through man. Good luck, and remember EAT TO LIVE, DON'T LIVE TO EAT!
