Post Mom's Flan (Caramel Custard) Recipe!

This is a wonderful dessert. Wanna cheat? Do it with this!

First take 1 cup sugar and 1/4 water and bring to a boil until it caramelizes (turn brown) DONT BURN IT! When thats done pour it into a 8-10 in pie mold. Make sure you swirl it around the sides of the pan. Let it harden and set aside. Easy enough!

Flan Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 can condensed milk (borden is the best)
1 can evaporated milk
1 4 oz package of Philly cream cheese (softened)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk

Place everything in a blender and blend until smooth. Taste it. Add more sugar and or vanilla, its up to you. Take that mixture and place in the pie mold with the hardened caramelized sugar. Now take a pan bigger than the pie pan you are using for the flan and place the flan pie pan inside of it (one pan inside another) fill with water till it reaches half way up the flan pan. PLace in a 350 degree oven (preheat oven) and cook for about 45-50 min or until you can stick a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean. After its done refridgerate till completely cool. Now comes the cool part. Take a plate place it over the cooked flan and invert onto the plate. You may want to run a knife around the sides to loosen it a little. It should come out easily then all the sauce (caramelized sugar) will pour out over the flan. Serve or save it for yourself.
