Post PATRIOTIC PARFAIT

This is a recipe that I found in Muscle and Fitness. It is geared to the bodybuilder's sweet tooth! MMMM. Thought you guys and gals might enjoy something to quench your urge for the sweets... healthy.

This parfait is made with red, white and blue ingredients and will be te highlight of the dessert table for that special occasion (or if you just wanna chow down on some sweets!) and would be perfect for upcoming 4th of July when you're looking for something quick and want to use fresh fruit that is in season.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pint whole strawberries (fresh or frozen - fresh is MUCH better) sliced

8 oz. light (fat-free, sugar free) vanilla yogurt

2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen - again fresh is better)

In four tall parfait glasses (these work the best, but tall champagne glasses work well too - and if you don't have them - they are VERY cheap), layer blueberries (bottom), yogurt (middle) and strawberries (on top of one layer of the yogurt). Make the layers smooth so the show well from the outside of the glass. On top of the strawberry layer, put another layer of yogurt. Add the remaining fruit on top and VIOLA! You have a delicious, nutritious dessert!!!

MAKES FOUR SERVINGS

PER SERVING:

111 calories, 4g protein, 25g carbs, trace fat (not enough to even measure!!), 4g fiber

ENJOY!

J
