Pec Tear

Nine days ago felt a ripping feeling doing 405 on the negative portion of the second rep. Right then I knew I tore my pec. Now at this point I am waiting for the MRI results, praying that it is not detached from the two insertion points. It might just be a muscle tear. I'll keep you guys filled in.

Ouch, sorry to read about that injury, zeus. It sucks! I hope that the results of the MRI won't be too bad.
Take care!

Nope not very painful at all really.
Considering the amount of damage done. There is very little pain.

Question

Is there a way to tell if it is just a muscle tear? For example, I last week I heard the popping and tearing on my negative flat bench, and still have a sharp pain where my pec attaches to my front delt, almost in the armpit. I haven't been to a doctor because there is no deformation, or bruising. I want to take care of it myself, but it is completely torn I know I need surgery. Any advice?

Christ! Those are gnarly looking...

Luckily I have never torn anything, but had a buddy tear his pec and need to have it surgically re-attached. Its tough... Good luck in your recovery.
