Here is a page with downloads for "file shredding" utilities. Basically these utilities make your deleted files actually deleted and unrecoverable by any means. I think some can even overwrite all free disk space, effectively permanently removing all previously deleted files. If anyone has any experience with this type of software please share. -AP-

after what happend with the big busts - I'll be stepping up my security. Don't think or at least hope they won't bother chasing down the end users but it's better safe than sorry.

There are quite a few programs that will overwrite free diskspace. I have used Windows Washer and Evidence Elminiator. Personally, I think evidence elminator does a more complete job but it is harder to set up and use that windows washer. Also, evidence eliminator is constantly running in the background and uses alot more memory. If you have an older computer it can really slow it down. Many versions of PGP also have a feature that will allow you to securely delete files.
