it seems that safe-mail is where most are going. just like hush, you'll need a safe-mail account to have secure communication with safe-mail users.

the tech data clearly indicates that hush based communication is still safe, but people are too paranoid to listen to fact...it's all about..."they said this", " i read that". the tech data doesn't lie. hush encryption is based on your passphrase, which not even hush has access to. hush can backdoor them into your account, but everything except header info will be encrypted. contrary to popular beliefe, 128 bit encryption is very difficult and time consuming to break, and they will not even attempt it except for true national security threats.

Chaos, I just saw an employee of IBE/IR and a good friend of mine at the gym, and he said LE was basically using the Patriot Act to justify any information and any means necessary they could get their hands on. They managed to go through IR's personal business information and accounts, and their methods were not primitive by any means...

This is what he said, I am still skeptical, because I believe what you and lincoln stated on this thread, but I just thought I'd let you know, that maybe it was through justification of Patriot Act that they were able to use other means...

It's the "sky is falling" mentality. Just like if youre arrested, then you are automatically convicted. I fuck up at work everyday, and cops do the same, so do feds. But their fuck ups can cost them their case. The trick is to get a lawyer that can sniff out the mistakes and win your case on a technicality.

The Patriot Act can be used to gather almost any info they want. But when it plays out in court, then a judge will likely throw out half of what they gathered because the patriot act was meant for investigating threats to our country. If there isnt a threat, then the Patriot Act may have been abused and the info they gathered may get thrown out of court.

It all depends on the judge. If he or she is an activist judge, then you are fucked.
