Newbie
OK guys heres where I'm at....
39 years old, used to be a fat lard ass until a year ago. Lost 7 stone by running, diet and weights and now weigh 12 stones. Looking good now but trying to build up some muscle. Main problem is falling off the wagon. I build muscle quite easy but if I gain fat like hell when I fall off the wagon! An example: been off the wagon for 2 days now and eaten 5000 kcal both days. Most of it oats but some cake crept in there today.... Need some advice on suppressing this appetite of mine! I could eat shit on bread and learn to like it so much I overeat! Thanks |

Firt of all, a Big welcom to TM. Im sure your going to get plenty of advice here. There are alot of very dedicated people here that know their shit. I am fairly new and find this site extremly useful in my own personal performance. As for staying on the wagon, (Congrats on turning a new leaf) dedication is numero uno. Its all in your mind. you have to want it bad enough to stay the course! once you establish that, there are a multitude of great natural suppliments to curb your hunger, burn fat, increase metabolism to name a few. Im not a nutritionist and wont claim to be as I will defer giving you supplement advise to my fellow TMer's. Again welcome to TM!

Sounds like you have done good with your training and diet, we all fall off the wagon from time to time, lol. Just have to get back up there and get back on track. At 39 your metabolism has already slowed down from those younger years of being able to eat anything and not gain a pound from it. So obviously you have to watch your diet pretty close and stay consistent and train consistently. A good appetite suppressant and energy supplement is Venom Hyper Drive 3.0 by ALRI, this will help with your appetite and urge to over eat. |

Welcome! And I agree, everyone falls off the wagon, just get back on, and try not to get discouraged. Ephedrine and coffee might curb your appetite, but you may get jittery too, it depends on your bodies sensitivity to stimulants.

Sadly I am highly sensitive to stimulants such as coffee (Guess getting older can be a real pain) but good news is I still grow muscle like hell when I fall off the carb wagon!
I've just been reading up on carb cyling and I'm going to try that for a few weeks to see how that goes for me. Problem seems to come when I'm about two weeks into being ripped...my appetite just goes haywire so I'm hoping cycling my carbs will stop it. Thanks everyone. |
