Life with a plate and pins

Several of you might know me from elsewhere and some don't. I had an accident in late April of this year whereas a horse broke my humerous in four places. I am now sporting an eight inch plate/with fifteen pins in my arm. Its been several months now away from the gym but now am released to light workouts. I am wondering if anyone has any insights on this type of injury and ifso the pros/cons of it? ( what to look for or training techs to help me along ) I know that its going to be a long hard road to get me back to where I was so any help is appreciated.

TAZ will become famous soon enough
I have a friend that lifted for team usa. Got in a major car accident. Had a similar deal in his femur where it was shattered and had to be put back in place with pins and screws. He went back to compete. This doesn't answer your question but it may give you some hope that a strong recover is possible.

Well this is my exprience I'm the one who had the broken femor thread. I'm back in the gym now and it's been two weeks, the bone is not completely fused back together. I can not do legs, but I have started with leg ext no weight and doing what I can with everything else. The big difference now is I have to have someone help me just in case the weight shifts or I can't handle it to finish my set. I can't put much pressure on my leg so I've had to make adjustments on how I do certain lifts. It's painful sometimes and slow going but I do feel better just getting back into it. It get's better everyday just keep in there and work though the pain. It's different for each person, you no your limits. I just push it as hard as I can each day, somedays are better than others. GOOD LUCK.
