Distal Bicep (tendon) tear.

I was doing dead lifts yesterday and my bicep tendon tore at the elbow. My bicep is now about two inches higher up my arm. Not sure if it is a full or partial tear, I can't see the doc till Tuesday. I have read up alot on the injury. Once reattached, and following a fairly long recovery period, the prospects of full recovery look good.

I know what I am going to do, but talking about helps me mentally. Anyone here ever have to deal with that type of injury?

Get it fixed asap. I did & it's stronger than ever. Find a good orthopedic surgeon who specializes in this type of surgery. My surgeon had preformed over 80 mostly on baseball players that had full recovery.

Had the injury 2 yrs ago. I was out for 6 months, was in a arm brace most of the time to keep my arm from being straightened. When it started to heal they would allow it to straighten by about 10 degrees every 2 or 3 wks. I have been working out ever since but it's always in the back on my mind. I am pretty close to be as strong in the arm as the other. Mine was tore 99% of the way and had surgery the following Monday. The first question was had I been on steroids. Good luck. You should be back in no time.

Bro, relatively simple surgery. Recovery sucks but is almost %100. I have a friend who just ruptured BOTH of his in a deadlift meet. Did the worse of the two first and then the other. With the arthriscopic you can't even tell. Best of all is no misshapen bicep or anything at all. Went well.
Another note, get this ruptured a my supraspinatus Part of rotator cuff, about two weeks ago. MRI showed slight tear also in theinfraspinatus. They get inside and I ALSO had a ruptured biceb tendon in the shoulder end. Only in my 5th day of recovery but pain is BRUTAL. Surgery went well, as I'm sure yours will. Just be patient and follow Dr's orders . Sorry about the injury but I'm not working so I've EVERYTHING nailed down so tight right now. Food ,sleep etct. Will add other as I can, therapy, Suppliments, easing back into trainging. Maybe use it ito help some other injuries you been workin' around, maybe tendinitis, just give you body a overall break and you'll be back better and quicker than you think.
Good luck---dh
