Am I suffering from over use
Here's the deal, I have worked my way up to curling in the 130's, I am talking BB curls with a full oly bar ...now my elbows joints are starting to ache a bit. Just wondering if I have some over use issues or just old joints...any input would be appreciated...

Are you locking your joints out at the end of the movement.
I had the same problem when doing straight barbell curls. Upon locking out of elbows developed some severe joint pain. Stopped locking out and added flex-a-min(CVS, WALMART) to my supplement routine. |

You could wear elbow sleeves. That's what I do when lifting heavy. It helps. A Glucosamine/chondroitin supp might help too.

Those are called growing pain. It has to do with the tendons. Tendons take longer to recover than muscle. The only thing that will help it is time away from the movements that cause the aching. Does it hurt at the end of the setwhen you release the bar? Take something that you can tie around the mid part of your forearm. If you dont feel any pain during that set then that confirms tendon pain.
I have the same thing off and on with my elbows when doing skull crushers so I take my wrist straps and tie them around my forearm and I can perform the set with heavy weight if I wish. But usualy if I stay away from the exercise it takes about 2-3 weeks to fully recover. |

your tendons and ligaments might need time to catch up to the weight you are curling with your muscle fibers. try taking a break and using lighter weight more volume on reps for pumps. or just taking a break period from curling movements, a week or more. you'll come back bigger and better.

try some MSM powder. sulfur is an essential nutrient for ligaments and what not. Dave Palumbo swears by it.

Thanks guys...the pain is not usually noticable during the set, although it did hurt a bit after the 1st set this last work out, it usually comes the next 2 days, and it is different from DOMS...it is directly in the insertion area of my biceps and formarms...will lighten up and up the volume for a while. I usually cycle between light, moderate and heavy....
I am using: Cissus Knox Gelatine w. Glucosan=mine and Chondrotin and MSM and 2 ius of GH here and there |
