Hip Pain!!

I've had this pain in my left hip for little over a month now, its worse at times but its always so damn aggravating, sometimes the pain shoots all the way down my leg. Been to the chiropractor twice but it doesnt help in the long run. Been doin dumbell lunges, light weight high volume squats, hip flexor work, etc trying to let it heal a little. i was just wondering if any body had any experence with anything with this cause its just becoming too much of a nuisance.

the waist line on the left side of my lower back. i didnt feel anything strain while lifting, but it comes and goes like a real tight feeling. sometimes it just hurts like hell and runs down my whole left leg like when i stand or sit for a long period of time.

If you are having pain that is not tolerable and involves it also radiating down your leg, I think you might want IMO to see a doctor and not a chiropractor. As to what kind of doctor you basically have three options I can think of:

1. An orthopedic doctor
2. A neurologist
3. A rheumotalogist

It sounds signifcant and it is also signficant it is impacting your lifting. I personally wouldnt let it go any longer. You will need to decide for yourself what kind of doctor you want to see. It is beyond my expertise to suggest one is better than the other. Just throwing this out there.

Sorry for your pain

it def sounds nerve related by the running down pain and shooting down the leg. did you blast a nerve by chance shooting in the glute??

Yeah I know. One thing I like about this forum is that everyone is cool and has good sense of humor not like some of the other forums. lol

Defintinely sounds nervem related. Need a MRI to see where the nerve compression is coming from. Would probably benefit from a physical therapist. A little traction might help. I would stay away from any type of lift that would compress the lower disk.

Try stretching out your lower back and hip flexors. If your hip is hurting, dont do any exercises that put you into whats called hip flexsion. Ex. if you were standing and you brought one knee up towards your stomach/chest you are flexing at the hip which would make it tight and cause aggrivation. I work with clients and patientsfor therapy all day long! Do some good corrective stretching along with some corrective exercises. dont do and squats, lunges, leg extensions and excessive sitting. All of those things contract your hip flexors which will make them tight! Good luck and be consistant!

I have the same problem. I had to get a cortisone injection to make it through my training for the last show that I did. Pain killers or muscle relaxers would not hit the spot. The pain starts in the upper left side of my hip/lower back, and penetrates deep into the hip. I notice the pain usually comes with fatique, even walking through the grocery store will cause the pain to flare. Someone told me they thought it was a pinched nerve. The first thing my Dr did was x ray. He didn't see anything in the x-ray so I have to go back.
