Achilles tendon

I don't know what I did but it's painful as hell. I ice it 3 times a day and put anti-inflammatory topical gel on it for the night but when I did calves today, I had to stop b/c of the pain.

Don't push it... If your not sure what's making it hurt, you should stay away from the workouts that make you use it more. Give it time to heal and just listen to your body. It'll let you know when you can get back at it.

Yeah I know. I'm training with 2 mild hernia's right now. They don't like leg day at all. So I have to lift legs way lighter with high reps. I hate it, but I can't afford the money or time off work it would take to have the surgery. But I'm still able to get results, it just takes longer to get a real good pump going.

Not only does my Achilles still hurt but ...... I have another injury. I broke 2 personal records on wednesday and ... injured myself in the process (right forearm). I haven't been able to do biceps, it hurts too much.

I have been icing the tendon and put Ibuprofen topical gel. I'm taking the week-end off and if the pain is still as bad on monday, I'll go and see a doc while I'm at the seaside. Maybe putting my arm in the salty water will help. What do you think?

How long are you going to the seaside for? If your going on holiday for a couple of weeks then I'd rest and not do anything to aggrevate you injuries while there and see what they feel like when your back. When I get tendenitis the only thing that works for me is laying off it until its over, but then your younger than me and heal quicker. J.R.

I'll stay there from monday to friday. It's hard for me to stay away from the gym but you're right, TJ, it's the only way. I didn't rest at all since I had the other injury (my left bicep/tricep) and .... it's there since october of last year! I think that anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Apranax only help with rest...

Go easy Girlie. You don't want to tear something up real bad, Then it will just take longer to get back in the swing of things...

I saw another doctor last thursday. He said that I have a bursitis and that I have to wear low and very supple shoes for three weeks and see how it works. No physio, no anti-inflammatories, only a topical gel.

plantar fasciitis can cause pain in the arch of your foot not to mention your achilles try moist heat for this acouple times at night. I found putting a wet towel in the microwave for a minute does the trick(don't burn yourself). Achilles tendinitis is another thing you are probably suffering from, HEAT once again, try the the hot,wet towel again and lay it over your ach. tendon. MOIST HEAT does wonders I've suffered from this before it's a bitch, the heavier you are the worse I 'am 274 lbs. and my shit hurts all the time from playing rugby. I feel your pain!

Thank you, chunk. It's the second time that somebody tells me to use moist heat (graz told me about it months ago but of course, I kept putting dry heat on that tendon ...).
When the pain is really bad, I let cold water run over my tendon and it relieves the pain for a while (not for long though).
I'll try moist heat from now on and I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again, chunk!
