I blew my back out late June at Ghostdog's gym.It was a total fluke. I was getting ready to do my set, went for the plate, bent down something popped and I hit the floor.Couldn't even walk!! Ended up in the hospital.Totally quit all training till last week so I've had about 5 months off. Anybody had a similar injury?? I've worked around shoulder injuries before but not sure how to go about this one. I need to get big again. Went from 249 to 226.It sucks!! Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not "on" right now,but planning another bulker when I feel I'm back to at least 85%.

I blew out my right rotator last year. We were at the gym on heavy bench day. My partner at the time could bench 505, I was on cycle... and my ego got the best of me. I tried to put up a lil too much (doesnt matter how much, lets just say it was "10 lbs too much". lol). And I felt it go *pop*.... and all of a sudden I had a VERY, VERY heavy bar making it difficult to breathe! So he pulled the bar off of me and I came up and realized everyone had just seen me fail. Uh-oh, *Dumb-ass alert*. Yeah, you guessed it, I tried it again, with even worse results.
It took about a year to be able to bench heavy again... but I dont think I will ever worry about my "max" again. Its not worth the risk to me. To this day there are still certain motions that are difficult. I cant do heavy weights on any motion that pushes over the head and my rear delts are lagging cuz of the pain involved in training them.

Try either nubain or oxycontin to get through the painful days...J/J, I know about injuries and setbacks too, all you can do is what you can and hope for the best!

I know that it is not what you want to hear...but.. Its better to be able to get back in to it one day that none at all, so take your time let your back get healthy again... take it easy and don't push to much.
