I only buy Diet lean(97/3%), so it is rarely cheap
I love it! |

You know that if you buy 90% lean for like $1.99 per pound and you cook it like scrambled eggs (crumble it up and brown it) and then put the ground beef crumbles in a collander to let the fat drip out you lose at least half of the fat of the 90% ground beef.
This doesn't work well for stuff like burgers, but if you are just eating the beef to get it in your system (like I do) then its great! |

Actually here is what I do(cutting)
I buy diet lean which is 3% fat. Cook it in a George Foreman and drain it that way. Put it into a collander(sp). Then when cooked I put it into two absorbing papers until all fat and moister is gone. Granted, It is as DRY as fuck, but is pure red meat protein. I may add a little ketchup to make it passable. Not tasty, but as clean as Ground beef(which I love) can be made |

Walmart consistently has cheaper prices... somtimes you can find it on sale at the end of the weekend. Your best option is to befriend a farmer and buy a bigass freezer... deer seasons coming soon too- if you happen to hunt

I normally be a side of beef & get my steaks & all for around $1.99 a lb. This is hambuger made into patties in all.
Find your local butcher & alot of people sell there extra side of beefs @ the counter. (My area / midwest) |

Hell ya Sam's is the shit. I get 6.5lbs of boneless skinless chicken breasts there for 12 bucks. 3lbs of tilapia for 10 and the last time I was there I got 6lbs of lean beef for 13 bucks, cant beat that

I tend to eat alot of round steak, cutting or bulking. Wal-Mart has great prices, but I swear the steak tastes like rubber Walrus meat. I tend to just go to Publix, it's 10x better. Also, they will take anyone's coupons. The ground beef from Wal-Mart is more tolerable.....for some reason. And that is certainly cheaper.

I used to buy that a lot as well. For some reason I tend to Choke when I eat quite often and red meat seems to be the biggest problem so lately I've been eating a lot more chicken and ground turkey.
BTW...ground beef at Costco is pretty cheap, but they don't carry the super lean stuff. If your eating the super lean stuff as hamburger pattys don't cook it to long...medium rare doesn't taste to bad. |
