I achieved a personal record today I have been seeking for three weeks. Small in some peoples mind but LARGE for me! A little tip I read latley may have helped. I squezed the bar as hard as I could for two seconds, let go for about three and went to pressing. Has anyone else used such tip or technique? IF so, has it helped?

Back in 1991, I employed 1990 Southern State winner, Luke Tezvic, as my personal trainer and he's given me great advise. One which I still use was to keep the thumb on the side of the index finger, rather than wrap it around the barball/dumbell, when doing arm workouts. It's helped my training eversince.
And about your personal record, bro. Although it may be small for others, as you say, it's still a great success for you. Even after 4 knee surgeries, I managed to break my own squat record. Prior to that, I hadn't performed any heavy squats in 3 years, which was when I began having knee pains. So it's not what others may think, it's what goals you have in your workouts.
