training and working and carbs??
ok so here is my schedule through out the week..
mon-fri i work 7am - 4pm. i get off work and run home and have a quick meal then am in the gym training from 7-10(mma)... then i work out from 10 to 11. by the time i get home and have to talk to the girlfriend and other bullshit i get in bed around 12, 1230 at the latest then am up six hours later for work! there is not enough time in the day... i have 2 questions.. 1. A lot of people say don't eat carbs past 3 or 4pm but since my training is so late in the evening, i have to eat carbs or when i go in i feel worn out and tired. im not looking to gain any more weight. what should i do, keep eating carbs or try and cut them out around 4. 2. is that only six hours of sleep killing my gains... also im on a cycle of test prop 100 mg eod, eq 600mg a week. |

I tend to have a difficult time sleeping. I often go for weeks with only 4 or 5 hours (which is not enough) and still make gains. With that being said I do grow more and feel much better mentally and physically if I get in a full nights sleep which for me is 6 to 8 hours. With the amount of training and busy schedule your keeping I don't think carbs are an issue unless you are trying to loose bodyfat. I eat carbs, protien, and fat at all hours of the day and night (in huge amounts) and still stay relatively lean year round.

Brinkman I used to fight amateur MMA... IT IS INTENSE. And on top of that you are trying to workout like a bodybuilder??? You need all the carbs you can get my friend. And as many naps as you can, and try to catch up on your sleep during the weekends.
Personally, I think you are doing too much. I was in the same situation before, and I had to give up one. Guess which one I stuck with. Bodybuilding. You have to make a personal choice, and stick with it. Otherwise you will never excel at either, and just tire yourself out mentally and physically with all this activity. |

Much respect for the MMA guys, those guys burn A LOT of energy. Have you seen Rich Franklin's circuit training? Pretty hardcore. You burn tons of calories doing MMA training, it is usually non stop, unless you are one of those guys that roll for like ten minutes and take twenty minute breaks lol. So I wouldn't worry about eating too much unless you are getting ready for a fight, and which in that case it shouldn't be too hard to make weight anyway.
