diet help

Guys need to start eating a lot better and do some cutting.

SweetPotatoes, when should I eat them and what can I put on?

Salad at night, is oil/vinegar ok for the dressing?

Your question is not an easy one line answer. Getting proper dieting down and knowing what works for your body takes time with trial and error.

Maybe this will kind of help, I always start the day out with higher calorie meals with higher carbs and fats. As the day winds down, cut back on the carbs and only eat higher protein meals and food until bedtime. My body does not like having high amounts of carbs being digested right before bed.

BB first thing i would do is sit down and figure out which protiens your gonna intake and how much. I would recommend 2g per but thats up to you. I would then set a carb cutoff point for each lifting day and cycle off carbs on non lifting days. then figure out how your gonna cook your protien and fill the rest of your cals with complex carbs and good fats.

now to your questions on the SP and salad. Sweet potatoes are fine to eat anytime before your carb cutoff. the Salad is fine with the dressing you stated. lil tip though as much as possible try not to mix protein and fat meals with protein and carb meals. really helps.

I use shakes for both pre and post work out, depends on the time of the day you work out. I have been trying to make it a habbit of cutting carbs down as the day winds down, so I would not eat a whole lot of carbs towards the end of the day.

boston, pwo you wanna use white rice man... instant gratification. brown rice and all the slower burning stuff is good in the morning and before noon. one thing, no matter whose method of dieting you end up using, it's good to go to sleep with no carbs. oh, and if you can use whole food. only use shakes when absolutely necessary or pwo.

one good thing to try is carb cycling. take count of everything you eat (g of fat, carbs, protein, etc. calories). limit yourself to 100-150g carbs a day for four days, and then on the fifth day carb load, 500g of carbs for the day. then repeat cycle next day. another thing that helps when dieting is cardio, especially if you're on AAS. 45 min in the morning and at night will make a you a lean machine. try to do both on empty stomach, the evening cardio do at least an hour after your last meal, then go to sleep right after.

thanks DrMax, all in trial and error and years of being in this game

BB, in your quest to cut and lose fat, you might want to progressively cut things out... start out with your condiments and such, and then eventually start taking them out, later eat your food bland, and then near the end start boiling your meats and so, watch your sodium intake, etc.

I believe if you diet like a bodybuilder getting ready for competition, you will learn so much through the process, and be more pleased with your results.
