Question 100% Whey Protein

I recently started lifting about 2 weeks ago. I began taking Creatine, and now have just purchased a protein supplement(GNC 100% Whey Protein). I follow a good diet, and work out about 2 hours a day total. Just wondering when the most efeective time is to take the protein supplement, before or after my workout?

Well, im 18, 6'0" and weigh 165. I work out with free weights at school, and bowflex at home. I have been switching back and forth doing biceps and triceps one day, and chest and shoulders the next. Both days i do ab workouts. I just bought the protein suppliment, and am beginning to go on a high protein/fiber diet. Maybe some pointers, or any suggestions would help. Im trying to get my weight up and build more muscle mass. Thanks guys!

Are you just switching between arms and chest and shoulders? If so I would throw in some legs and a rest day so as not to over train. I can under stand the high protein diet but unlees your 65 years old high fiber ain't going to do nothing for you. Do some searches on this board and do some reading of old posts and you will find out all kinds of good info. Also Check out Airborne's web site if its up yet and his prices will beat GNC's all day long.

Ok Sean...welcome to the board. I'd say you are a step ahead of most guys your age in the fact that you are doing research on working out. Very smart......IMO not knowing your stats I would say to eat about 1 1/2 - 2 grams of protien per pound of bodyweight a day. If you are strictly going for bulking you are going to need a good amount of carbs per day as well and some fats are ok.don't go wild on them, but your body does need them. Tattoojr is right about reading old posts from this board..there is a lot of usefull information for you. As far as a good time to take your protien shake would be 2 or 3 times a day..you need lots of protien. Immediately after your workout take a shake made up of 40g of protien and 50g carbs I guarantee this will help. It has always helped me.

well damm everyone alredy beat me to the punch LOL
Bro listen to these guys But I would have to add just to renforce what was already said , REST, work out legs and back, RE read kangs post again and again, find out your BF(body fat%) everyone should keep track of that no matter what IMO. Also bro look under the training section and look at other peoples splits(work out routine) Ie when they rest, what days to work what, and what Body parts to work together. Later Airborne

P.S hehe ok The web site is coming along nicely Thanks to oc1000 I honestly thought I would have it up and running a lot faster LOL but boy Did I find out how long it takes to build off the ground. Remember guys I do have products in stock but no web site. I promise you will have you own shock and awe when you see it. heheh later Airborne!
