The nutrition wars continue between most nutrition exprets who favor High-Carbs/Low Fat diets, and those who favor High-Protein/Low Carb diets. As usual, bodybuilders, and the general public for that matter, are caught in the middle. Dr. Donald Layman, from the Univ. or Illinios Medical School (Urbana-Champaign), stated that the current obesity problem in the U.S. is a public fiasco. Heart Dissease rates are rising again after almost 50 years of deline! Obesity will cause health problems that will come back to the surface in the next 10 years and may wreak our health care system! His study showerd that HIGH-PROTEIN diets are JUST AS EFFECTIVE as Low-Calorie/High-Carb Diets!!! However, the protein diets help people maintain muscle mass during weight loss adn seem to INCREASE the action of the Thyroid gland, which is an important center for controling the metabolic rate.

Thanks for the info. All I knew is that it worked for me. Glad to hear some people actually stand behind it. Although I was just on vacation for a week and the diet went out the window, im starting tomorrow Sunday again. Come to far to go back now!
