If you are a natural BB those are pretty unrealistic expectations. Most Natural bb's in their early 20's would be happy to gain 7lbs of LBM a year.
If you are a natural BB, then you achilles heal will be impatience and you will never feel fulfilled. You should expect to gain that 7lbs of LBM a year by focusing on your Macro's and emphasize QUALITY over quantity. Your diet is what will promote the addition of LBM. I recommend eating a Variety of Animal Proteins. I particularly like Tuna, Eggs, Pork, Beef and Turkey. For Protein Shakes.. I like Designer. Though what is interesting is that the quality of our favorite Protein shakes is less and less. I trust designer because since it has been around the price has NOT changed, indicating to me that the ingredients today are the same as they were 6 years ago. EFA's are important. I like Natural Peanut butter. Carbs should be varied in my opinion. I don't like sugary things but I don't think there is a whole lot of harm in eating white bread or white rice. To be quite honest, I think some sugary things timed correctly will assist you with your workouts contingent upon when you eat them. I like to eat something sugary before I workout and after. If you are using AS then your diet is completely different and many of the people here have made some excellent recommendations. Especially the 2-3 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight theory. Of course since research on people using A.S. is severely limited we don't really know what the ideal nutrition plan is but since we do not that your metabolism SKY ROCKETS when on A.S. then it would make sense to increase your nutritional intake proportionate to the type of effects your A.S. will promote. But the foundation of your nutrition plan should be the same. Quality over Quantity.. but ideally you should have both when on A.S., Both quality and quantity. So in summary nutrition is the most important aspect in gaining weight. Your workout is secondary, but I think it should consist of low Volume and HEAVY weights limited to 2 working sets of 1-5 reps. |

I'm all natural but the only supps I take are whey protein shakes, protein bars, Size-Up Mass Drink & amino acid pills. As of right now I'm 168-170lbs & 18% BF with a 34 waist. Since I last checked I was 162-165lbs. I gain about 5-8lbs in a couple of weeks. The only changes I notice are I'm frequently farting every minute, taking a shit 5 time a day, and I'm always hot and sweating even freezing cold weather! but I think I can get close to my ideal weight which is 190 by June if I keep it up DEDICATION BABY!
I eat alot of tuna, beef, and rice and as my workout goes I have a 4 day split. I lift heavy to about 3 sets with 4-7 reps for 35mins-1hr I just weighed myself and I scaled in at 174 but I just ate so I dunno but I can do it! 20lbs in 6 months BABY! I'll keep yall posted....
