Well I decided to do the show this past weekend. I always have low bodyfat so getting in contest condition is never a problem. I cut carbs on Tuesday for the Saturday show. Monday night I weighed 254lbs and by weigh in on Saturday I was 242lbs. After pre-judging everyone was telling me I would win my class (Masters Heavyweight) including the other competitors. I thought it was a toss up between myself and my freind David Hughes. I am bigger and harder than David but he has bigger arms and I know these judges (The exact same judges for the past 10+years, John Lindseys Old Cronies Gang, what's up with that?). Well they ended up placing me 5th! OK, I will admit that my stomach was a little disdended but I was still the biggest and hardest competitor in the show! I am not one to complain but I spoke to Ken Tailer (head judge) and he told me the same line of crap again, "The triceps should be two thirds of the biceps and you need more separation between the biceps and triceps"! Also, "you need to bring your stomach in". He actually said he had me in third or fourth but that I should talk to the other judges. So now I ask you, is this supposed to be a bodybuilding contest or an arms contest? If it is an arms contest well then my arms are still bigger than everyone but Daves! And what about legs and back? And if they are going to mark me down for my stomach being a little distended then how about Dave. His stomach looked like he was about to give birth! Does that not matter? What really gets me is that I got beet by guys that where half my size and soft! So I may not be the pritiest, but I do carry the more lean muscle! Check out the photo's:
