Guys,
I've been having pains in my wrist when I workout. For any exercise that involves wrists. It never used to be that way but it started about I guess 8 months to a year ago where my wrist just sort of kill me when I'm doing benches, curls, or anything that involves it. That's a lot! I still work through the pain but read somewhere that it can be more of a complication although it wasn't a bodybuilding site and probably some whimp wrote it but just wondering if anyone had to deal with it and what you did to alleviate it. Kind of like a rotator cuff training thing. I wanted to know if there's a way to fix the wrist by certain exercises for the forearms to build strength or do I really have to see a doc? I have wrist pain too. I hope it's not carpal tunnel syndrome.
Maybe it's due to the fact that I lift heavier and heavier and that my wrists cannot handle it. I was wondering if wearing wraps would help or not ... |

Wearing wraps can help. But... You need to find out what exactly is the reason your having pain. I.E. Carpel tunnal, tendinitis etc...
Does the pain you have stay in the wrist area or does it travel up toward your forarm and elbow? Is there any popping sound or popping feeling in your wrist while doing certain excersises? Know these could help figure out what is going on. I have had tendonitis and went through physical theropy for it, so I do have some advice if thats the case.

I think that it might be CTS even if I don't know the real symptoms.
The pain is located at the outer part of the wrist and it irradiates along the arm towards the elbow sometimes. |

Sound like what I had...
Be sure to stretch your wrist alot. Not real hard but just enough to help keep it lose. and doing wrist curls real easy and slow can also help. Good luck with that. If you don't want it to get worse I would go see a doctor as soon as you can.

Thank you, The Guardian.
I will see a doc on monday and keep you posted. I always forget to stretch .... I'm gonna buy wrist wraps too for my lifting sessions. In the meantime, I take anti-inflammatory drugs. It helps but I know it's not good for my stomach .... |

Yeah, for sure you want to keep it in check. If you let it go to long it will really start to effect everything you do. So the doc is a good idea.
At least just to be sure it is'nt to serious at this point. Good luck

Thank you, The Guardian.
I'm prone to injuries, maybe b/c I lift heavier than I used to. I have since a couple of months a sharp pain in the left arm f.ex. I have been to the doc butl he says that it's a tendonitis of the bicep. I have taken anti-inflammatory drugs, they help for a while but when I stop taking them, the pain returns. I don't know what to do.... any ideas? |

See about going to physical theropy. At least go in an talk with them. I took anti-inflams for a couple months and it help cut the pain down, but it didn't do anything to get rid of the problem.
I went to physical theropy and they had me do certain excersizes and stretches and certain times and after about three weeks of doing that stuff it went away. I have not really had any problems since then. Just something to look into for ya. Good luck

APT sells some good straps. Look into it, they're pretty inexpensive too.

Carpal Tunnel really sucks, I lost a construction job over it. It came down to I needed surgery and they never called me back to work.
You should have that checked by a doctor, especially if you're experiencing any numbness.
