Coffee's fine, as long as it doesn't have anything in it. Dave Palumbo will occasionally have an espresso shot before workouts.

He doesn't like stimulants because they raise cortisol, and cortisol is catabolic.

DEFINITELY no pwo carbs. If anything, take some bcaas (pills, powders might containg hidden sugars/calories) if you are afraid of muscle loss.

Like Alpineslide said, ANY carbs (even carbs from lettuce if you eat enough) will take you out of ketosis, and it takes 3-5 days to get into a state of ketosis. I think you have to stay under 50g net carbs a day.

If he were writing a diet out for someone, he would definitely keep the coffee out though (only because of calories) and put exact meals and etc. on the plan, but RFG isn't using this to step on stage, so I applaud his creativity with this keto diet.
