OK bro, I am not well versed in Vista at all but... In Windows xp starting the operating sys in safe mode and then going in and deleting the files is possible but you first have to add your user id to the list of id's allowed to access the files. In safe mode, Right click on the files you want to access and open the security tab click on advanced and find the search for available users to add, add your user account name to the list even if it appears to already be there as it will allow you to do this. After adding your user name to list you should be able to access the files for deleting. You may need to do this for each file you want to erase. Remember I don't know if this works on Vista at all. I don't have a Mac but I suggest going back to Windows XP.
